Seriously, though...

Your words are only as good as their delivery

Let's face it.  Way back in grade school you knew it.  Uninspired teachers destroyed even your favorite subject.  Untrained, disinterested Voice Over will be misunderstood and quickly forgotten.

Information is precious and it should be conveyed with the interest of a nerd and the skill of a trained communicator.

Communication Matters

You've spent a ton of time and effort at each stage of this project.  It was incredibly difficult to find the right words.  That much work shouldn't be wasted on something no one will understand or remember.  It's frustrating to work so hard only to be forgotten and misunderstood.  You have the right to expect more.

Trust a Professional

Voice Over is the human touch that supports your message and glues it together into one cohesive whole. There's a difference between sounding good and actually communicating well.  While anyone can speak, it takes a trained professional to connect with the listener in a way that is understandable and memorable.

HOW IT WORKS

Let's get this moving!

1. Ask for a quote

Tell me about your project. What type of project is it?  When do you need the audio? How many words is it? Who will end up hearing this? Where will it be used? What's your budget?

2. Fine tune the Details

I'll ask any clarifying questions to help understand the project and send you a  quote.  Once I'm sure we're on the same page, I'll record your Voice Over!

3. I send you the Voice Over

It's that simple. I send you the Voice Over, you send the payment and your sound engineer can incorporate it into your project!

ABOUT JOY BAKER

Are you left-brained or right brained? I’m both. I was told by a rather upset doctor that people are always one or the other, but… here I am: a nerd and an empathetic communicator.

The left side of my brain loves getting to nerd out about pretty much anything.  From medical procedures, to “how to” manuals, to advanced mathematics it’s tough to find a subject that doesn’t interest me.  The right side of my brain kicks in with creativity, communication, and out-of-the-box thinking. I find few things more rewarding than saying something and saying it well.  There’s something thrilling in the moment, when what you’ve said hits just the right notes and really means something.

The left side of my brain loved homeschooling my kids (I have three boys) for four years.  I loved getting to nerd out learning the background of everything I taught my kids.  In college, I was the one that explained what the professor just said so the kids around me could actually understand it.  I love to learn pretty much anything.  From medical procedures, to “how to” manuals, to advanced mathematics it’s tough to find a subject that doesn’t interest me.  I find it incomprehensible how many interesting topics are dismissed as boring! … But that’s another subject.

The right side of my brain kicks in with creativity, communication, and out-of-the-box thinking. I’ve never been afraid to make an idiot of myself to make a point.  In High School I was once mistaken for a little old lady when I spent the whole day in costume and age make-up so I could deliver my speech in 4th period. I find few things more rewarding than saying something and saying it well. Connecting heart to heart, mind to mind, soul to soul.  There’s something thrilling in the moment, when what you’ve said hits just the right notes and really means something.

As for the other stuff… I live on the plains of West Central Minnesota with my husband, three rambunctious boys, two kitties, one Cavachon puppy, and the occasional pesky coyote.  I love Jesus Christ, my husband, and making my husband blush.  And I LOVE to help people communicate well.  Information is precious and it should be conveyed with the interest of a nerd and the skill of a trained communicator.
